This Memorial Day, we pause to reflect, remember, and honor the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country and for our freedom. We also remember and lift up the families of these fallen heroes, whose sacrifice is deeply felt and never forgotten.

As we reflect today, we can also be reminded of John 15:13:
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

What a powerful reminder of both the courage of our fallen service members and of Jesus, who also gave the ultimate sacrifice for us. Today we honor those who gave their lives in service, and we give thanks for the freedom we have to live, worship, remember, and openly honor both our fallen heroes and our Lord and Savior.

God Bless America!

May we never take that freedom for granted.

Staff Spotlight: Meet Whoop Whoop! 💗⛵✨

This year Whoop Whoop will be serving as a Trailblazer Counselor, and we are so excited to have her on staff.

After attending Camp Cedarbrook for 12 years and now serving 3 years on staff, Whoop Whoop knows firsthand just how special camp can be.

Her favorite color is pink, her favorite food is spaghetti, and one of her favorite camp memories is learning to sail at camp — which feels like such a perfect Cedarbrook memory.

This summer, Whoop Whoop is especially excited to step into her role as a counselor and pour into campers the same way others once poured into her. There is something really special about watching campers grow up and come back ready to lead, and Whoop Whoop is a beautiful example of that full-circle camp story.

When she’s not at camp, Whoop Whoop attends the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where she is studying Physical Education. She also loves roller skating, color guard, and spending time out in nature.

Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, a reminder that God’s plans are full of hope and purpose:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord...

We are so thankful for Whoop Whoop and the joy, heart, and energy she brings to Camp Cedarbrook Texas!
