Captain Montague's is an award winning bed and breakfast on the shores of Lake Erie. We’re so glad you stopped by. It has its roots in hospitality!

We provide outstanding lodging and accommodations for our guests and showcase the wonders of Huron, Ohio and the Lake Erie region. minates a shady corner in Huron, Ohio just a short walk to the Lake Erie shore. Our home was built in the late 1870’s by the owner of the local lumberyard and master shipbuilder of the day, Mr. John Wickham; consequently, he left his legacy of beautiful woods—solid black walnut mantels and staircase, red oak and mahogany floors, and more. We are so fortunate to have these pieces of the past. You see, even though the property has seen grand times, it also has experienced very hard times. Great Lakes captain, Charles Montague, purchased the property in 1890. He and his family—wife Sarah and children Newton and Edith-- lived in this grand house until the mid-thirties. The Montagues made their home famous for its grand parties and receptions.

What do the Wild West, Casa Bernabé children’s home in Guatemala and the Lake Erie Islands have in common?

Trivia night and you are invited! Here is the scoop...

We are pleased to be partnering with Casa Bernabé Ministries / Friends of Children Everywhere to be a host for their largest fundraiser of the year, a Wild West themed trivia night. We have a limited number of tickets available to join us in person for a bbq feast and an evening of friendly trivia competition. We are excited to be hosting the directors of Casa Bernabé Edgar and Sara Salguero and their family for this evening.

Not local? Not a problem! You can still gather a team for some fun wherever you are and have an opportunity to win a great Captain Montague’s prize (keep reading for the details!) We are live-streaming the entire event, and all you need to compete is your computer, an internet connection, and a few of your friends.

Who is Casa Bernabé? They are a ministry that is near and dear to our hearts, providing care for some of Guatemala’s most vulnerable children, working to provide hope and healing, working to break generational ties of poverty and abuse through family modeling amd education.

Now, about that prize we mentioned. The lucky grand prize winners will have their choice of three prizes, one of which is a Captain Montague’s private charter aboard our very own Kataluma to your choice of one of the Lake Erie Islands and a golf cart rental for the day.

We have been sprucing up the bed and breakfast for your return! So many guests have said they are excited to stay because of the 2020 pandemic! Dates are filling! So excited for 2021 and our reopening!
