Exciting Weekend Activities
The Saddle Up for Fun(d)raising event is almost here, and we have added several activities to make it an even more enjoyable weekend.
• If you have a prize for our Give-A-Way table or a nice auction item, please bring them to our attention at time of arrival.
• Want to help, please reach out, we are in need of a few extra helpers. Please help where needed.
• We are planning a fun Trail Course to play on, including Sunday, no Trail Ride planned, you can trail blaze on your own. The Trail Course will remain open for riders on Sunday till 1.15 pm to enjoy at their own pace while taking in the scenery.
• Idaho City: Art in the Park will be taking place in Idaho City at Brogan/Naylor Park on Montgomery Street. We have adjusted our ride schedule to allow participants time to visit town and enjoy the festivities in Idaho City. 11 am til 6 pm Saturday & Sunday. https://www.facebook.com/events/992227656490089
• We are now sporting 2 - Horse Shoe pits you may use behind the Courtyard.
New Trail Route Information
As many of you know, the upper trail that previously provided direct access to the forest trail system is no longer available due to circumstances involving neighboring landowners. We have had multiple discussions regarding access; however, their position remains unchanged at this time.
The good news is that Saddle Up for Fun features a great new route! Riders will head up as usual, then follow signs down to Bear Run Road, cross the road, and continue onto the Ted Jewell Creek Trail for a beautiful loop ride. There are a couple of fun sections along the way, but nothing a good trail horse can't handle.
We welcome your ideas for future fundraising rides. Please share suggestions for alternate routes, especially options that avoid crossing Highway 21 for our more timid riders while still offering shorter rides toward the radio tower or Idaho City and the Airport Loop off Walulla Street in downtown.
