Did you know?!?! Second Creek trailhead is a beautiful 30min drive from us, just over Berthoud Pass. A steep 1mile hike gets you to Broome Hut, one of 38 backcountry huts managed by the 10th Mountain, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, connected by 350 miles of suggested routes. They provide a unique opportunity for backcountry skiing, mountain biking, or hiking while staying in secure, comfortable shelter.
Their name honors the men of 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army, who trained during World War II at Camp Hale in central Colorado. Hut visitors share the special spirit of these individuals, especially their pursuit of excellence, self reliance, and love of the outdoors.

We HAD to check out THE coolest new thing in town…The Mighty Argo Cable car! Its definitely a must do when visiting our amazing town of Idaho Springs. The views are priceless, the quality of staff and build were top notch and SO much enjoyed hiking around and watching ALL the mountain bikers. We didn’t get the privilege of live music as we caught one of the first open to the public days but that will for sure be epic! THANK YOU to The mighty argo cable car team for having such a fun vision and bringing this to life!

15min away is Clear Creek Canyon Park and the Welch Ditch trail…great path for easy walks, jogs, runs and biking and will soon connect to us in Idaho Springs so you can go from Idaho Springs to downtown Denver! We love that Colorado prioritizes investing in outdoor activities, it truly is an adult playground 😍

We have had a dry season…until today! Beautiful foot of snow! Mountain Liv’n is always magical but the trees are covered and glitter is falling, its extra special 🥰 Lucky guests this weekend to enjoy!
