The Overlook sits about 700 feet higher than the main village of Idyllwild, so the cabin often has more snow.

There’s still enough hanging around to make it feel like a real winter retreat.

Fuller Mill Creek Picnic Area is a relatively unknown gem in Idyllwild.

There’s a short trail with a few well-maintained picnic tables like this one scattered about in the peaceful woods.

No big views here, just quiet serenity.

The San Bernardino National Forest is set to re-open on Thursday, September 22. Many of our favorite activities in Idyllwild are in the forest such as hiking, picnicking, mountain biking, etc.

Just in time for a great weekend on the mountain!

The Overlook is booked, but our property manager, Idyllwild Vacation Cabins, still has many other great cabins available.

Caught a movie at the Rustic Theatre in Idyllwild for the first time since the pandemic.

Wow!

The popcorn was fresh, the sodas were cold, and the new seats were extremely comfy.

The Rustic doesn’t just do movies these days. Next Saturday, July 31, they’ll feature live music, a Summer-ween party (Halloween in summer), and a comedy night.

Check it out the next time you visit Idyllwild.
