Not every great moment at the lodge happens with a rod in your hand. 🦌

This pair of bull caribou swam right past us last summer — a reminder that the Mulchatna isn’t just home to incredible fishing, it’s a thriving wildlife corridor. Bears, eagles, caribou, moose… you never quite know what’s going to show up on the riverbank.

Caribou sightings tend to pick up in late summer as they move through on their migration routes — so if you’re booking an August or early September trip, keep your camera ready in addition to your rod.

Alaska gives you more than you came for. Every time.
