I started thinking about creating something really fun 🤩 and joyous this holiday 2021 season. As we are getting out of our funk of 2020, like a 🌵 we are resilient, strong and something beautiful shows up when we least expect it. I started messing around with shades of hot pink reddish paint and ended up with 5 🌵 unique funky designs. Added bells 🔔 balls, stars and ornaments and named them jingles, cheers, starbright, tangled and naughty. For me, they symbolize being unique, having fun and getting a little wild this year. Put a 🌵 in the comments if you feel the same way!

2021 Sun & Sea Festival Transforms into Sandcastle City August 13-22!

Summertime and sandcastles are an Imperial Beach tradition. San Diego County’s largest sandcastle competition will be replaced by the largest sandcastle ever built on Imperial Beach sand. This massive sandcastle will be built at Portwood Pier Plaza by the multi-award-winning professional team and hometown favorite, I.b. Posse.

IB Locals and Visitors to Imperial Beach can watch Professional Sand Carvers build from 10 a.m. to dusk. Watch the sandcastle transform from a mountain of sand into a vibrant, living work of art starting Friday morning on August 13 - 18th. See the biggest Sandcastle ever on Imperial Beach’s sand or watch the Kids-n-Kastles contest.
