Temple Town Cabins on Mullett Lake

Temple Town Cabins on Mullett Lake Temple Town Cabins is a family owned resort located at the mouth of the Indian River on beautiful Mullett Lake. Owned and operated by Joe and Sandi Gelina.

Our resort has five 2 bedroom cabins, making it a great place for family reunions! We also have a game room to keep the kiddos happy 😀 Cabins were built in the early 1940's and renovations for Temple Town started in April 2016. We now have 5 uniquely themed adorable 2 bedroom cabins located on Mullett Lake at the mouth of the Indian River.

We will remain closed through at least mid June, or until we can comfortably feel it’s safe to put our docks in the water. The water is receding, but at a slow rate. I’ll keep everyone updated on conditions in our area. It’s sad to see our lake so quiet as the weather has been so beautiful the last couple of weeks!

Update on water testing in our lakes

Water level update:
Currently the water levels are way too high to put docks in the water. Therefore we will not have our docks in the water or be prepared for rental season by Memorial Day. As far as I know there are currently no boat launch’s open to the public. And they are warning people that if you do get out in the water, it is very dangerous as there’s so much debris in the water. Also everything is all no wake, as boat waves cause further damage to people’s property.
Will post further updates as they arise.
Have a safe Holiday weekend everyone!
And for those on our summer calendar, I’ll stay in touch to keep you personally posted on updates.
Thanks Sandi

The water levels are slowly getting back to normal.

A look at Mullett's data.

The graph shows Mullett Lake’s water surface elevation at the USGS Mullett Lake Outlet Near Cheboygan for the 365 days.
Specifically, the graph compares year-over-year water levels. Today's water level (5/13/26) is shown on the right end of the graph (top line, dark blue) with the measurement from one year ago (middle, green line) sitting below. The water level is 1.54-feet higher this year on May 13th in comparison to last year.

Predicting how soon Mullett Lake's lake level will drop to last year's level is difficult–it depends on the amount of precipitation the watershed receives in the next few weeks and how fast the inflowing rivers discharge their flood waters. If the rate of water level drop continues at the rate shown on the graph, reasonable estimates suggest three more weeks before the lake approaches last year's level.

🚨 WATERWAY CLOSURE EXTENDED 🚨

The current waterway closures have been extended through May 15, 2026. High water and hazardous conditions include submerged docks, boat hoist and break walls. To protect life and property the closures will remain in place.

🚫 CLOSED TO ALL BOAT TRAFFIC:
• Cheboygan River south of the dam
• Black River
• Indian River

⚠️ NO WAKE LAW IS IN FULL EFFECT ON BLACK LAKE, BURT LAKE AND MULLETT LAKE!
This is to enhance safety and increase the likelihood of spotting floating debris as well as protect the shoreline from additional washout. The lakes remain open; however, all boaters and anglers are urged to use EXTREME CAUTION due to floating debris and rapidly changing conditions.

These closures remain in place to protect lives, property, and infrastructure. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as conditions continue to be monitored.

If you are planning a trip up this way to go boating, be sure to check to make sure the rivers and boat launches are open. Everything is still currently closed from the flooding, and there are different messages out there stating when things will be open again. We are up in the air on our opening date this year for that reason. We will
keep you posted on what we hear, and can confirm is true.
This will definitely not be the “usual” Summer season 😞
