It's that time of year for scallop lovers. If you have your own boat or take a charter boat. The 2026 recreational bay scallop season for Crystal River (and the broader Citrus, Levy, and Hernando counties zone) runs from July 1 through September 24, 2026. Harvesters can search the shallow grass flats for bag limits of 2 gallons of whole scallops per person or 1 pint of meat, up to 10 gallons per vessel. There are several boat ramps nearby by. We are only 20 minutes away from Crystal River.
