As our community continues flood recovery, we want to give you plenty of notice that the required monthly outdoor warning siren test is scheduled for next Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at noon. We know the sound of these sirens may bring back difficult memories for many of you, so we want you to know the exact day and time in advance. Testing the sirens is an important part of keeping our warning system ready. The test will be postponed if the weather is bad, and we will let you know on UGRA’s social media pages if that decision is made.

River update: Friday the river was still covering the newer dock. The county cleared out the grate against Waltonia Crossing to allow for proper drainage. Water is back to a normal level, color looks good.
You won’t believe it…the huge gravel bar from the 2025 flood is gone. I will miss the easy beach entry…after a year of complaining about the gravel. So the water is deep again, and Neal got a new ladder installed this morning.

River update:
Here’s the water today. We’ve got the old dock cleaned up.
I am super curious to see if this flood pushed the gravel bar out. Stay tuned.
We have a great reunion group at Waltonia this week that’s hoping to get some kayak time by end of the week. We will see if the water clears up for them.
Thanks for thinking of us!

8am flood update. Water receded to the top of our dock. We have a large band of rain coming, so this is good to see the water level down.
The Hunt flood sirens did go off really early this morning. We remain under a code red.
