TOMALES BAY RESORT & MARINA

Announces the opening of our Bayside Bar, Lounge & Restaurant

Opening Thursday, May 7, 2026
12938 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, Inverness, CA

The Bayside overlooks our 69-slip marina and boat launch, offering sweeping views across Tomales Bay to the East Shore and the Tomales Bay Oyster Company. Centrally located on our five-acre waterfront property, the restaurant is surrounded by 35 guest rooms, a private cottage, two beaches, a pool, and kayak rentals, along with a variety of indoor and outdoor event spaces designed for weddings, retreats, conferences, and team-building gatherings.

The Bayside is envisioned as a lively, welcoming hub for both resort guests and our West Marin community. Visitors to the National Seashore and nearby state parks will find a relaxed, hospitality-driven atmosphere highlighting fresh, locally sourced Marin County ingredients. The space includes a welcoming fun-friendly bar area and a separate lounge room with board games, puzzles, darts, foosball, and a pool table, as well as casual seating. Our spacious dining room is anchored by a fireplace and expansive glass doors. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor deck overlooking the bay and pool, as well as a rooftop deck with panoramic water and landscape views. Programming will include live music, trivia nights, guest speakers, and seasonal celebrations.

Our menu draws inspiration from our sister restaurant in Petaluma, McNear’s Saloon and Dining House, with select legacy recipes alongside nightly specials featuring local farms, ranches, and seafood purveyors. A large smoker will produce oysters, ribs, and whole chickens, available for dine-in or takeout, complemented by 12-inch pizzas from our new pizza oven.

Operations will launch in phases to ensure quality and consistency. Phase One we will be open 5 days a week with afternoon bar service starting at 3:30 pm, food service from 4-8 pm, and bar closing at 9 pm, and will be open an hour later Fridays and Saturdays.
Phase Two expands to seven nights a week with added midweek (T/Wed) service. Phase Three introduces weekend brunch and lunch service.

Resort operations will be led by a father-daughter management team, James and Sophia Tolbert, overseeing the hotel, restaurant, marina, and events. Both raised in the San Geronimo Valley, they are joined by a team deeply rooted in the West Marin community, alongside the Harriman family, the resort’s owners, also San Geronimo Valley natives. Together, they are committed to delivering a warm, authentic West Marin hospitality experience.

We invite you to join us on the bay!
