Lake J.B. Thomas just earned Texas' top spot on Bassmaster Magazine's 2026 Best Bass Lakes list — ranked #2 in the entire country, the highest of any lake in the state!

In just the first four months of 2026, this 7,282-acre lake produced 159 of Texas' 467 ShareLunker-qualifying bass (8+ lbs) — including a 13.16-pound catch from one of our own longtime guests, Brandon Burks.

New chapter for Sandhill RV Park! We're excited to welcome long-term residents and weekend travelers to our full-hookup RV park in Ira, TX. We're minutes from Lake J.B. Thomas (ask around about the bass) and sit in Zone A for Texas's Sandhill Crane hunting season this fall/winter -- yes, that's where our name comes from.
