Celebrating 26 Years of Cheryl ❤️
This week, we celebrated Cheryl Melelli —someone who is so much more than a longtime employee. On August 25th, Cheryl worked her last shift after caring for the residents and working with the team at Victorian Pines Estates for the last twenty-six years. Her last overnight shift started off with a non-alcoholic champagne toast with coworkers; this evening we celebrated her at dinner. 🥂
Although extremely impressive, twenty-six years is more than a number. It represents countless residents cared for, families comforted, stories heard and told, difficult days and nights made easier, and so many lives touched along the way.
Cheryl has been a familiar and comforting presence to generations of residents and an important part of what makes our community feel like home.
Cheryl has given so much of herself to the Pines… She’s watched residents come and go, welcomed new faces, supported her coworkers, and continued showing up year after year with dedication that cannot be taught or replaced.
Cheryl’s 26 years will forever be woven into the history of the Pines, and her absence will certainly be felt!
Cheryl, from all of us:
Thank you for every late night and early morning, every conversation, every laugh, every helping hand, and for all the compassion and commitment you brought to our community. Thank you for the countless things you did that may have seemed so small at the time, but meant so much to someone else. ❤️
We are SO happy for you as you begin this next chapter. It’s bittersweet, but you are so deserving, have so much to be proud of, and we look forward to your visits! 🫶🏻
Congratulations on your retirement, Cheryl!! 👏🏼🍾🙌🏼
