Over the weekend, I drove from Iron County all the way down to Lower Michigan, and of course, I had to make a few stops along the way.

There’s a lot to see across Michigan, and sometimes the best part of a road trip is getting off the main road, checking out a new spot, or pulling over because the scenery catches your eye.

I put together a few videos from the stops I made along the way. Here’s a little look at the trip across Michigan this fall.

Perfect weekend for a drive... what are you waiting for?

Some Michigan views are worth the long drive, and Lake of the Clouds is one of them. 🍂
Tucked inside Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, this iconic Upper Peninsula destination overlooks a peaceful inland lake surrounded by miles of forest. The classic view is reached by a short, paved trail from the parking area, making it surprisingly easy to experience even if a longer hike isn’t part of your plans.

For those who want to explore farther, the park also offers rugged hiking trails, waterfalls, mountain biking, and sweeping views from Summit Peak.

Lake of the Clouds is beautiful in every season, but seeing the surrounding forest covered in fall color belongs on every Michigan bucket list.
