It’s almost fair time in Iron County. 🎡

The Iron County Fair returns August 27–30 to the Iron County Fairgrounds in Iron River.

Four days of rides, fair food, livestock, entertainment, family fun and the kind of hometown tradition that makes summer in the U.P. special.

💪 PROUD OF OUR ! 🏔️

1,800 Feet of New Safety Cable Going In Big Bear. The safety cable is essentially an electrical wire—think of it like one giant extension cord that connects the top and bottom lift shacks. It’s an important part of the lift’s control and safety system, carrying the electrical signals that control the starting, stopping, emergency-stop switches, and other lift functions between the two stations. The cable is buried underground to help protect it from weather, equipment, skiers, wildlife, and other potential damage, while keeping it safely out of the way.

The work that happens behind the scenes at Ski Brule is no small job. Long days, heavy equipment, tough projects, and plenty of hard work.. our crew tackles it all.
We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, pride, and effort our employees put into this mountain every single day. So much of what our guests enjoy each winter is possible because of the work being done when no one is watching.

To our crew: THANK YOU. ❤️ Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and Ski Brule wouldn’t be what it is without each and every one of you.

We’ve been a little quiet on the creek… but for good reason. 👀🏔️

Summer at Ski Brule is anything but slow 🚜🔧

While everyone is enjoying the sunshine, our crew has been hard at work getting everything ready for another incredible winter season. Here’s just a glimpse of what’s been happening behind the scenes:

✅ Finished the second half of the Main Lodge siding project, completing the entire building.
✅ Upgraded Big Bear with new top and bottom safety wiring to match last year’s new EVFD drive system.
✅ Installed new power for the Bunny Rope, Bambi Rope, and Gentle Ben lifts.
✅ Completed service on our Areco snowmakers.
✅ Main Water Supply Pump service and maintenance.
✅ Track work for Bison XPT, next groomers to go.
✅ Big Bear electric motor and gearbox serviced with new bearings and a full alignment check.
✅ Snowshoe gearbox and electric motor serviced, including alignment.

Every improvement we make is an investment in a safer, more reliable, and even better experience for our guests. We can’t wait to show you the finished results this winter!

If you’re visiting, you may notice reduced visibility and the smell of smoke. We recommend:

* Limiting prolonged outdoor activity, especially if you have asthma, heart or lung conditions, or are traveling with young children or older adults.
* Keeping windows closed when possible.
* Staying hydrated and monitoring how you feel while outdoors.

This smoke is expected to be temporary, and we’re hopeful for improving conditions sometime soon. Our prayers go out to all those directly affected by these wildfires.

Please travel safely, and if you’re heading our way, be prepared for smoky skies.

🥵 90°+ in the U.P.? We checked… and no, this isn’t Florida.

We’ll enjoy every minute of summer, but don’t get too comfortable. Last year we were making snow in early November, and before long everyone was begging for powder instead of pool weather.

Winter has a funny way of showing up fast in the Upper Peninsula.
