Rising 1,772 feet above sea level near the old mining town of Middle Brook, Taum Sauk Mountain is Missouri’s highest natural point. But you’d be forgiven for driving right past it. In true Ozark fashion, the summit is less a jagged peak and more a highland glade. A granite marker at the foot of a weathered boulder is about all that distinguishes the spot as significant.

The Mountain Music Festival is coming up and we wanted to be a part of such a jam-packed weekend by bringing back a piece of the Valley’s memorable past! While it may not be exactly what it used to be, we’re putting a PTO spin on it and hope that you’ll join us! The whole community is welcome!

Okay, you can have your mountain back.

After two big back-to-back race weekends — Missouri Enduro Series (Loki Events) followed by Downhill Midwest — we’re officially back to regular weekend business.

Thanks to EVERYONE who brought the energy, helped with the chaos, raced hard, cheered loud, fixed bikes fast, volunteered, visited, worked, and made Shepherd feel like Shepherd.

Now the tape is down, the racers have rolled out, and it’s time to ride, vibe, and enjoy the park in regular weekend mode again.

We’ve avoided most of the rain, Wagon Run is open — our new green DH trail that’s super chill and beginner-friendly — and the XC trail out at Shepherd Mountain Lake is ready for anyone wanting to spin some miles before or after shuttle laps. (All built by Trelcru Inc.)
