Friends, we've been working on this one for a while, and we are so excited to finally share it with you!

The Seasons of Snug Hollow is a 365-day walk through our little corner of the Red Lick Valley — one photograph and one quote for every day of the year.
You'll find spring's first redbuds and daffodils, summer butterflies and evening skies, autumn fog rolling over fire-colored ridges, and winter's icicles, snowfall, and quiet. If you've ever stayed with us, you'll recognize the creeks, meadows, and hillsides. If you haven't yet, this is a pretty good introduction. 💛

Every single photo was taken by Ryan on his iPhone and left exactly as the holler offered it. No editing, no filters. Just a reminder that beauty is waiting right outside the door, and you don't need fancy equipment to see it.
Each day's photo is paired with words from writers who knew the land and its seasons — Appalachian voices like Emma Bell Miles, Horace Kephart, James Lane Allen, and Madison Cawein, alongside Emily Dickinson, Thoreau, John Burroughs, Robert Frost, and more. Ryan opens each season with his own reflection and closes the year with his words on love.

This book is rooted in Ryan's family ties to Appalachia and dedicated in spirit to his grandmothers. It's meant to be savored slowly. Open it to one page each morning, or wander through it like a walk around the labyrinth at the heart of the holler.

This past weekend, we had so much fun hosting Reagan and Jordan’s wedding here at Snug Hollow. Their friends and family stayed with us all weekend here in the holler, and filled it with laughter and so much joy. Wishing this wonderful couple the absolute best on their new journey together. ❤️

Last weekend, we had the joy of also hosting this wonderful group of women coming together for their EKU College reunion. ❤️

“Just a quick note to thank you for a fabulous 3 nights at the retreat cabins! Y'all were such gracious hosts and always accommodating to our needs. The staff were also just delightful and offered great service and the food was fabulous! The retreat cabins exceeded our expectations. The front porch/deck was a lovely spot to gather and l enjoyed quietly sneaking out for my morning coffee and observing the rise of the mist. And our companions Kasper and Scout were the best greeters! I wish you you the best…”
