Fremont County has moved to the “Ready” stage, meaning that there is a significant threat of wildfires and that now is the time to prepare for an evacuation.
This is not an evacuation order but a reminder to be prepared to evacuate.
This is what to do at the “Ready” Level:
• Sign up for free wildfire alerts at https://public.alertsense.com/SignUp/?RegionId=1089
• Download the free “Watch Duty” app to your phone to monitor fire information.
• Monitor local news, websites and social media pages for wildfire updates.
• Create a “Go Kit” as suggested by the American Red Cross and keep an extra kit in your car.
• Have an Action Plan of where to go and how to communicate with each other in case of an evacuation. Include a family contact from outside of the area.
• Prepare family members with special needs, mobile property and pets/livestock for an evacuation.
• Keep the car fuel tank at least half full.
