Finally got the new Lund 2075 Impact broken in tonight!
After that I checked out some spots on the north sand. Did some side scanning with the Humminbird in 15’ and less and still marking quite a few fish. Picked up a quick limit with a parrot colored Northland tungsten jig with a leech under a bobber. Also caught some casting a jig and leech and dragging it on the bottom.
This week has been very active in this area with quite a few keepers. Might as well take advantage of it while we can!

*** Fishing Report***
Well we certainly are late with our fishing report, and we apologize! We have had a great start to the year so far. The bite has been rather good, for walleye and bass.

Walleye- A person can still go to the north sand (Carlsona) and find fish. The sand bite earlier was rather hot so that was exciting for many. Leeches have been the most productive, but we have had some scattered reports where artificial baits have been working.
Live bait seems to be working the best though. To be truthful we have had good reports anywhere from 5-22'. It seems as though the walleye are pretty spread out as the bass fisherman have been reporting catching quite a few, along with their bass. As usual, fishing the rocks at sunset has been productive. Try just anchoring with a bobber and a leech.

Bass- This has been quite the year for bass! So many large females have been caught already. It sounds like they are on the beds right now, so that is the stage that they are in. Ned rigs and pattletails seem to be the best choices these days. We have been having reports that boating 20-40 fish in a day is not out of the question. Of course, every day is different, but we would have to call that rather good! The water is really warming up, so they should be coming up on to the shallow rocks, and with some bugs hatching, try out some top water too!

We are still getting out of our channel just fine, but we certainly do need rain. If you would like to launch here and use our facilities, the rate is $20 per day if you are not staying here in a cabin. We have plenty of parking.

If you have any fish pictures you would like to share, send them to [email protected]! We love seeing and sharing your fish pictures if you are staying with us!

Last week, the Schaa clan from Iowa had an amazing time with the monster smallmouth while at our place. Check them out! 👀
They caught 6 over 6 pounds and one that was over 7! It was a week for them to remember. Nice job guys and thanks for joining us again.

We are certainly behind on posting reports, we will have a fishing report post coming soon! What a great spring so far!

***The Opener Is Near!***
Just thought we would drop a post with some FAQ‘s. The opener is right around the corner and we will be ready!

Q-Can you launch your boat here, if you are not staying here?
A- Yes you can. The fee is $20 per day. We offer fish cleaning facilities, bathrooms, parking and a blacktop ramp.

Q-is your harbor/channel deep enough for my boat?
A- yes, it is. We did have the harbor channel excavated late winter. We definitely could use more rain, but getting out there is not an issue.

Q- Do you sell bait?
A- yes, we do! We mainly sell leeches and nightcrawlers, but may have some fatheads on hand during the first couple of weeks. If you are in need of other types of minnows, go to Sues Bait in Malmo.

Q- Do you have enough parking?
A- opener is by far the busiest boat launching weekend of the year. We have a system where we shuttle people back-and-forth. If we get towards the highway, we will give you a ride. We can launch three boats at a time on our ramp.

Q- Can I launch my boat at midnight?
A- yes, you sure can! We have somebody manning the dock at midnight, and he will stay there into the night for a while.

Opener is an exciting time to be sure! Be sure to let us know if you have any questions. You can always reach us at 320-684-2221 also. Thank you!
