We celebrated our anniversary at this place, and it was really nice to stay away from the busy city. We wanted to celebrate with our pets so this place was perfect. They have a water well and porta potty. Lisa was incredibly kind and accommodating, extremely courteous and hospitable to us. We truly appreciate our time and we will surely be back again soon.

The campsite was awesome! Well maintained and spacious. It was very quiet, easy access for dropping kayaks in the river. Thoughtful touches like a rake to remove twigs etc where your tent would be. Hammock style seats along the river. Seating area to have lunch and relax as well bbq area. The porta john was the cleanest I have ever seen! The host was friendly and even handed out stickers☺️ our group is already planning our next trip back!

BETTER EVERY TIME!
Always a lovely stay at the Black River with Lisa! She keeps it beautiful and clean with plenty of dry fresh firewood and clean portapotties. The land is a wonderful place ro relax and recharge and the wildlife will keep you curious and amazed!

Absolutely wonderful experience!
Lisa and Eric offer true southern hospitality in hosting! Very welcoming, thoughtful, and just the sweetest! We had a group of five humans and two dogs together to celebrate our son’s 10th birthday and their private campground was exactly what we’d hoped for! Arriving after the Labor Day holiday meant we had the whole place to ourselves almost our entire five night stay making it very private. The reviews on the clean “facilities” are fully accurate - they keep them tidy and are kind enough to stock a few extras. The property is lovingly maintained which made it easy to explore and enjoy. Sites are sized extremely generously, making it easy to setup and spread out, as needed. Our son enjoyed casting and even caught a “birthday fish”! The kayak launch and patio area is beautiful and a great addition to the property. The views of the river were just gorgeous and even the bit of rain we got was lovely to watch fall. Firewood is well supplied at the barn and not having to pack out trash was a great perk. Lots of wildlife to watch! We saw eagles, hawks, vultures, turkeys, lizards, fish, and heard barred owls…we even saw a small fox on our last night! Our kids (and their Nana) had an AWESOME time “frog hunting” after dark, if you have littles bring a small mesh bag and keep count! We had a blast and would like to make it back sometime!

Best Ever!
I don’t even know where to start😁. Lisa is a wonderful and helpful host for starters. It is a beautiful and clean primitive campground nestled on a shallow section of the Black River. It turns deeper at the Sandy beach type Kayak launch next to the Hammock Hangout spot at the far end of the Campground. It was very quiet at night and beautiful under the light of a full Moon. Kayaking that section is a must with the scenery of cypress trees and Spanish moss. I caught a many of fish including a 7lb Bowfin. The Bowfin (blackfish) is native to that river. The restrooms located in each end of the grounds are the cleanest I've ever seen in all my travels of America. One of the Top primitive campgrounds I’ve ever been to. If you have ATT, you get enough service to call or text. I will definitely go back again!
