Our rescue mission needs rescuing!
We had a fire here that caused displacement from our homes for myself and many others. The damage that was done here was not only to the building but to all hearts as well...
From my heart to yours...
My name is Shelby Marshall. I am just one of many here, at the Beaches Rescue Recovery Mission (located in the Seawalk hotel) in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Myself and many others are in a discipleship training program called "Adventures in God's Creation." The other disciples and I actually live on-site here, at the hotel, along with residents that pay rent to live here. This Rescue Recovery Mission offers discipleship training/classes multiple times daily and a sunrise celebration service on Sunday mornings! They take in people like me that are broken, lost, hopeless, do not know their true identity in Christ, and they provide food, shelter, clothing, unlimited spiritual food, and true love.. Not a day goes by that we are not told just how much we are loved by Jesus and how important the word of God is, which we also call Truth. We learn how to love others the way that God loved us just like it says in John 13:34 "A new commandment I give unto you, is to love one another as I have loved you, so that ye may love one another." We are shown God's good grace, mercy, and forgiveness! Some of us come here so that we can heal from our brokenness, some of us come because we are tired of being sick and tired and finally had enough, some of us came here because we had hit rock bottom too many times, and some of us even came from prison or jail... I personally truly would not be alive if it wasn't for this Rescue Mission and this discipleship training.I never had a firm foundation with Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior as I do now and I'm still under construction and still growing and being rebuilt day by day I know that I am a child of God and I am truly loved that I am worthy that I'm an overcomer I'm a survivor I am anointed I am accepted I am a co heir-to-the-throne.. I know all of these promises because of Adventures in God's creation here at the Rescue Mission thanks to God making this place available to people like myself and others. It has rocked my world and changed my life more than anyone could ever imagine unless they experience heaven on Earth today as I have! Since the fire the aftermath has been very emotional due to the fact that we have not had our classes nor had our home to live in the displacement has caused lots of grief anger and frustration we truly need help.. we need as many Hands-On volunteers as we can get for clean up, we need donations for food and clothing as well as materials to get the place up and running again and I'm sure any cash donations would greatly be appreciated and accepted. I truly hope that hearts are touched by this as all of our hearts have been here at Beaches Rescue Recovery Mission!
