We can’t let May come to a close without celebrating Kubli Haus's Anniversary Month: four years in business and five years since our restoration began.

After sifting through images from 2021, I'm blown away at what we took on. There's a close-up picture of rot that represents two entire sides of the building. No pics of the copious mold, asbestos and animal remains.

We pride ourselves on being purists, returning most salvageable material back into the house. The handmade bricks from the foundation that we didn't reuse were carefully scraped, palletized, and sold by our kids—with one stipulation: they had to remain in Jacksonville.

In the 1950's the original heart wood floors were covered with linoleum. The removal had to be done by hand because sanding it off would heat up the mastic and ruin the equipment. We could not find anyone in the valley who would do this work. So we tackled it ourselves.

It was a whirlwind 18 months, fueled by the thrill of the project and the fun of meeting people in our new town. Would we do it again?

Hell no. Well, maybe.

Kubli Haus is Hiring!
We're looking for a part-time assistant manager to help with the growing demands of our historic boutique hotel. We have developed a high-end clientele that is accustomed to engagement and connection, so we are looking for a warm, friendly, and articulate person who enjoys meeting and helping people.
Job Duties
• Oversee quality control/staging of rooms
• Manage guest greeting and check-in
• Handle administrative and property maintenance tasks
• Address guest inquiries/Provide concierge services
• Process sales of items from hotel shop (includes wine, must be 21)
Scheduling
• Part time (16-20 hrs per week)
• Monday-Sunday (days change based on hotel calendar)
• Occasional weekends and holidays
• $20-$22/hour
Experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be reliable, professional, organized and thoughtful
• Marketing experience a plus!
