On the 24th of May, 2022, Wesconnett Lodge #297 was fed by the Amaranth Acacia Court #10. The Ladies of Amaranth put on a fantastic meal serving chicken and dumplings, corn casserole, salad, carrots, bread and many desserts.
Jill Beechly was on site at 4:00pm creating the main course. After about two hours, it was finished.
All Ladies of Amaranth Acacia Court were invited to help out with both creating the meal and eating. Those who showed up, Janet St. Jacques, Roz Heath, Judy Yeaton, Carol Stinchcomb and Gloria Roesler, helped to create a magnificent meal for the Wesconnett Mason's dining pleasure. Believe me, we did enjoy it and took a lot of pleasure in doing so.
All who were not able for whatever reason, to come and eat with us, certainly missed a fine meal and great company.
There was none left except tidbits and they were taken home by those who had room left.
If you weren't there, we talked about you. Then, we held Lodge and left while the Ladies cleaned up afterward.
Honored Ladies, we Mason's can't thank you enough. We were certainly grateful, emphasis on 'full'!

Good morning, Brothers and Sisters! Here's a reminder of Wesconnett Lodge's monthly breakfast. Gonna have a pleasant surprise for your dining pleasure. No, I won't tell you here. Come see!
We are also going to have the Blood Mobile here from 7:00am to 11:00am. So eat between 7:30 and 9:30, then step into the big red bus and donate blood to give life to others.
You'll feel good about yourself and you won't go away hungry.
Have a wonderful day and set your mind to Saturday.

To all who might see this, I have to apologize to some, especially Roy Mason. See, last Tuesday evening, at the 'lite supper' prior to our stated communication, I , as the J.W., rendered the outstanding choice of meals, sloppy joe sandwiches, creamed potatoes, fresh salad and the special Rice Krispy treats for your dining pleasure, for the first time, ran out of the main dish. The sloppy joes.
Oh we had buns. We had potatoes left and salad in abundance. We even had the rice Krispy treats left. However, when Roy Mason showed up at about 7:00pm, there was no sloppy joe left.
I was told by a Brother that I should over cook for this bunch. Truth is, the meat was so expensive I ran out of money for more. That won't happen again.
Rest assured, the next meal will be just as good or even better. But I've been told I should let it be a surprise instead of telling what you'll have, unless it's chili dogs, then everybody wants to know, for one reason or another.
So that's the explanation and sort of apology. Accept it for what it is. Things will work out.

In keeping with the highest traditions of the Masonic Fraternity, Tuesday 22 March 2022, before the actual meeting, at 6:30pm the Brothers and guests will be eating better spaghetti than the last time they had it. I mean it. I learned a lesson last time. I'll show you how much better food can be' and I'm telling you in advance.
I'm sure you'll appreciate it. See you there.

Brothers of Wesconnett #297, by special request, at our first stated communication in March, the 8th, the second Tuesday, we will have air fried hot dogs with chili and cheese, chopped onion, sauerkraut if you like, and hot sauce, also if you like.
I mention this because I said I would let you know what we'd have on the menu in advance. Now you know. I'm not sure of the side dish, but there will also be ice cream.

Wesconnett Masonic family had our Christmas dinner/party. No one left hungry, and the gifts that were handed out were fun and useful.
We thank the hard work of those that created the event: Stephen Soos, Al Neumann, Jill Beechly, Carol Neumann and all who showed up to create a great environment of joy and dining.
The Rainbow Girls had returned from the Wreaths Across America at the Memorial cemetery and helped set up the tables and provided drinks.
All who were present had a great meal and a fun time! If you weren’t there, you missed it all, and we talked about you. You were missed.

Wesconnett Lodge #297 really enjoys having visitors for our meals and our Communications. To show our appreciation, anyone who visits us will be presented with a token to remember their visit.
Come enjoy a meal with us and stay for the Communication. We may ask you questions about YOUR Lodge to set up a visit with you.
Our Officers look forward to having you there. Thank you.

Last evening at our stated communication, we had a special visitor : DDGM Leif Olsen..
The RW sat with us for our meal, provided by our JW, Steve Soos, and devoured his fair share of chili dogs, potato salad and salad. I probably should not comment on the number of chili dogs our DDGM can put away, because that might be considered rude, but he did not leave hungry. It was an absolute pleasure dining with him. The conversation was light during the meal and our DDGM is a very well informed man and is happy to share with all who ask.
As Lodge was opened by our WM David Stinchcomb, introducing our DDGM, RW Olsen thanked the Lodge for the meal and for the company he enjoyed, stating he had originally chosen Wesconnett #297 as his visit point for the evening. Our regular business was conducted after having only one wardrobe malfunction, probably designed by our JD to amuse the DDGM, and he was. But we got past it and went on to conclude the communication.
All went well until the closing prayer. Our Chaplain got to a center point and his brain just shut down. Not even a single word could he say. Hardly ever at a loss for words, his embarrassment was duly noted and may have even made it into the minutes. I hope not, because that has never happened to me before. I mean him, our Chaplain.
I guess being human means imperfection. That's me.
BTW, our DDGM only ate two, regardless of how many I was going to accuse him of eating.
The evening was a real pleasure, enhanced by our special guest DDGM RW Leif Olsen. You are welcome any time, Sir.
