Tastes like chicken! As Florida warms more problems (see link below) proliferate with exotic/invasives. BTW, iguanas have not yet made it to Jax. If you like chicken, come to Florida and have at it. Please, though, be careful about how you do it!

As the nonnative reptiles thrive, the state's wildlife agency is encouraging homeowners to kill them "whenever possible."

Dan Schafer is the local expert on Kingsley Plantation and Anna Madgigine Jai Kingsley, the African princess who was sold into slavery and later became the mother of Zephaniah Kingsley's children. Dan is wrong about one thing though. He and his spouse, Joan, own the St. Johns House B&B in our historic district. Dan says his Ph.D. in history is the right degree for cleaning toilets. I know for a fact that a degree in political science is far better preparation for that!

The last original resident of our home died on December 7. Robert Murray Jenks was the youngest of three sons born to Marjorie and Thomas Jenks. We had the pleasure of visiting with Mr. Jenks several times. In 2017 we hosted him, his daughter and son-in-law for a night's stay with us. He once again slept in his childhood bedroom. He was a very gracious man who shared lots of stories about living in this home and in our Riverside neighborhood. He said it was a very good neighborhood to grow up in. I am sure our son and daughter would agree with him. For more info on him, go to page 39 of the link below.

We too worry about 5 Points gentrification. Cozy Tea truly rocked and it was a shame the huge rent increase caused them to close. Shika and Kish were the best!
