A dear friend and frequent flyer to Blessings on State Street came to stay with us this past week and blessed us with these wonderful pictures of the breakfast I made for him. Although he did forget the first day and I guess we can forgive him for that. Thank you again Clint.

WED 11:15 PM: Tornado on the ground!

Tornado Warning for...
Southeastern Logan County in central Illinois...
North central Christian County in central Illinois...
Northeastern Sangamon County in central Illinois...
Southwestern Macon County in central Illinois...

* Until midnight CDT.

* At 1111 PM CDT, a tornado producing storm was located over
Riverton, or near Springfield, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This tornadic storm will be near...
Riverton and Dawson around 1115 PM CDT.
Mechanicsburg and Buffalo around 1120 PM CDT.
Illiopolis around 1130 PM CDT.

Other locations in the path of this tornadic thunderstorm include
Niantic and Harristown.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 55 between mile markers 98 and 103.
Interstate 72 between mile markers 104 and 137.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a
basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Today was a breezy, chilly morning when Turner Tree Service successfully, speedily, and safely removed a burr oak from our front yard. Tree-mendous job men! Thank you for a job done well.

Discover powerful stories of courage, resilience, and the pursuit of freedom.

The Jacksonville Area Museum presents Journey to Freedom: Illinois’ Underground Railroad, a new exhibit highlighting the courageous stories of freedom seekers and the multi-racial conductors who assisted them along the Underground Railroad. The exhibit is presented by the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area (Looking for Lincoln).

The exhibit opens Saturday, April 11 and will be on display through August 1, 2026. It is free and open to the public and may be viewed every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
