River & Rye from the sky!

A few weeks ago, a particularly awesome and generous inn guest took these drone shots of River & Rye. It’s so wonderful to see our space from above, and to see it nestled in the Jamaica Village and surrounding mountains. Sometimes it helps to take a step back and see how all the parts make a whole community ✨

A year in business! We feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful staff, to create food and drinks and experiences that make people feel happy and connected, and to be part of a community that’s brought support and joy to our space week after week.

This business is a both/and- we’re working hard all the time and trying to figure out what balance looks like, basking in the joy when it comes (which is most of the time!!) and learning to navigate recovering/shifting/adapting when it doesn’t.

All this to say- we’re happy to be here. We can’t believe it’s been a year. Thank you for continuing to show up. It means the world.

If you love River & Rye and you’re happy we’re here, throw us an awesome Google review. Those things are worth their weight in gold. And then come hang out, we’re open Thursday-Sunday from 5-9 PM. Inn is always open. Parties upon request.

We’ve got live music a whole lot for the End of August! Come visit us on Fridays and Saturdays for the best music southern Vermont has to offer!

This Saturday, August 15th is JAMAICA DAY! Come celebrate Vermont’s best little village with a day full of activities, vendors, a parade, rubber 🦆…

We’ll be open during the DAY* only, from 10 AM-4 PM, serving up burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, plus our full bar. We’ll have live music, lots of places to sit and hang out, and the crispiest fries around. We can’t wait to see you Saturday!

*this means no dinner service on Saturday night! If you’d like to come for dinner, join us on Thursday, Friday, or Sunday

We’re closed tonight, Sunday August 9th to rest and recover. See you all next weekend for regular dinner service on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, and Jamaica Day festivities on Saturday 8/15!! More details soon!

On August 8th, we’re celebrating our ONE YEAR !!! Anniversary!

One year of delicious food and drinks, of live music, of parties and celebrations and gatherings, of getting to know our neighbors and all the wonderful folks who pass through our doors, whether it’s at the restaurant or the inn.

Next weekend, we’re having a party to celebrate! Join us on Saturday for live music from one of our favorite Jamaicans, Sam Chapin and an evening of good friends and good food. No reservations, no formal dinner service. Come as you are! Maybe we’ll have cake!

It’s not easy to run a restaurant in a rural community in 2026. You all have made it possible, and for that we’re endlessly grateful. Cheers to one year and all the years to come!
