🍂 Haunting in the Hills is this Saturday!

One of Big South Fork’s favorite fall traditions returns to Bandy Creek on Saturday, September 19.

The day includes Appalachian music and storytelling, traditional crafts, food vendors, demonstrations, dulcimer workshops, and even a morning bird walk — with stories continuing after dark. 🌙

It sounds like a pretty great excuse for a September weekend in Big South Fork. ❤️

If you’re coming for Haunting in the Hills, BSF Lodge puts you close to the action without giving up a comfortable place to unwind. The Glow Worms Are Back!

Did you know that right here in Tennessee, you can witness one of nature’s rarest light shows? Deep inside Hazard Cave, tiny glowing creatures light up the darkness like a starry sky.

These “glow worms” are actually the larvae of the fungus gnat Orfelia fultoni, the only bioluminescent fly species in North America 🌌

Join us for a short, easy hike, about a 1/2-mile round trip, to Hazard Cave, where you will get to see this incredible natural phenomenon up close. You must be on a ranger-led hike and reserve a spot to attend. It is a perfect adventure for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking for something truly unique.
