Since 1925, the Alvin C. York & Sons General Merchandise Store has been a stop on Tennessee Route 28 (US Hwy 127) for both visitors and locals alike.

On Saturday, December 13th, park staff will be hosting an “open house” at 2609 North York Highway from 4:30-6:00PM CST. Come and celebrate 100 years of the general store/visitor center operations! Learn about the early days of the store under Sgt. York's ownership, its service as a post office for the community, and finally, the transition to the park's visitor center in 2016.

Short presentations will take place throughout the evening, highlighting the store's long past through period images. Explore the museum and learn about the many ways Sgt. York's story is shared here at the park today. Hot chocolate will be available for guests to enjoy while supplies last!

Enjoy an evening of history in a store that has been a gathering spot for people of the Wolf River Valley for 100 years!

R.M. Brooks General Store in Rugby, Tennessee has been serving locals and travelers since the 1920s, and walking through its doors is like stepping into a living time capsule.
