🍂☀️ Step Back in Time at the Historic Jay Covered Bridge 🍁

Tucked along the East Branch of the Au Sable River in Jay, the historic Jay Covered Bridge is one of the Adirondacks’ true treasures. ❤️

Built in 1857, this beautiful wooden Howe truss covered bridge spans 175 feet across the river. Completely restored in 2007, it remains the sole surviving bridge of its kind in the Adirondacks.

Today, the bridge is part of Douglas Memorial Park, where you’ll find picnic tables, a covered pavilion, benches, and plenty of peaceful spots to take in the incredible river views.

☀️ There’s still time to make the most of summer! Take a refreshing swim in the Au Sable, enjoy a picnic by the river, explore the historic bridge, or simply find a quiet spot to soak it all in.

And as summer begins to fade, 🍁 the Adirondack landscape starts its spectacular transformation. The surrounding trees will soon be glowing with fall color, making this already beautiful spot even more magical.

This month, we’ll be reading Between Two Kingdoms: A Memoir of Life Interrupted by Suleika Jaouad — the powerful story of a young woman diagnosed with leukemia and her journey toward meaning, connection, and life after survival.

Grab your copy, start reading, and come join us for another evening of good conversation, new perspectives, and a little time to unwind with fellow book lovers.

We will be meeting Wednesday, August 26th at 6pm at The Jay Covered Bridge, 47 Covered Bridge Ln, Jay, NY. Our plan is to convene on the rocks and listen to the water flow while we have our discussion. If the weather has other plans, we will meet at the same location but under the pavilion.
