We caught something chilling last weekend in the Doll Room! 😳 While filming Eddie the living doll a guest asked to put the camera on Eddie's face because it looked like his eyes moved. We didn't hear a thing while we were in there, but when we played back the tape on our vintage recorder, we caught an EVP that sounds exactly like singing over the top of our voices. It's been really active here lately.

Wow… what a weekend at the Jefferson Palace Hotel!

First and foremost, a massive THANK YOU to everyone who stayed with us, visited, and shared their time with us over the last few days. It was an absolute whirlwind of a weekend, and we loved every minute of it!

We had the pleasure of welcoming so many new faces to town this weekend. Seeing your reactions as you walked through our doors and toured our antique collection never gets old. We take so much pride in the preservation of the history within these walls—The Oldest Walls in Texas Hospitality—and knowing that you were blown away by the "living museum" experience means the world to us.
..And then there was the Doll Room (Room 14). 😳

To our guests who braved a stay in there this weekend: you definitely weren't imagining things! We had some incredible activity reported from Room 14 over the last couple of days.

While the guests were completely out of the room, one of the dolls somehow fell all the way across the room on its own. Later on, while the guests were sitting completely still inside the room, they actually witnessed another doll move right before their eyes! Let’s just say the energy was off the charts, and a few of our permanent, porcelain residents were very eager to make their presence known.

Whether you came for the history, the antiques, or the things that go bump in the night, thank you for making this weekend so memorable.

Spooky Season is Approaching!

Get ready, because the Jefferson Palace is gearing up for our 6th year of Dr. Mangles Haunted House. This October, we are shaking things up to make this our most immersive experience yet, and we want YOU to be part of the madness.

October Bookings Open This Week!
Starting this week, we are officially opening up our upstairs rooms to the public for October stays. If you want to experience The Oldest Walls in Texas Hospitality during the peak of spooky season, now is the time to secure your spot.

Calling All Actors: Stay Downstairs and Join the Show!
For the first time, we are reserving the entire downstairs exclusively for our haunted house! We are looking for dedicated actors to join the Dr. Mangles crew on the weekends in October.

- The Deal: Stay in one of our downstairs rooms, rooms 0 through 4, and be part of the haunt!
- The Discount: We are offering special discounted rates for these rooms for those joining our acting troupe!
- The Shift: Acting hours are from 8:00 PM to Midnight.
- The Twist: Your room will be used for the haunted house attraction during the show.
- The Perks: After the haunt ends at midnight, the party is just beginning with an exclusive after-party for all guests.

Important: Know Before You Book
Because it is spooky season, the hotel will be louder and spookier than normal due to the haunted house downstairs.
- Quiet hours are removed during these times to accommodate the event.
- If noise or scares will bother you, we do not recommend staying with us during these weekends.
- However, if you love spooky stuff, ghosts, and haunted houses, we are the absolute headquarters for that in Jefferson!

HIDDEN TREASURE DISCOVERED IN JEFFERSON!

For decades, the Jefferson Historical Museum has been the home of a massive, 6-foot painting that many thought was just a copy. However, recent high-tech analysis has confirmed it is a "lost" masterpiece—a full-scale sketch by the legendary British artist John Constable.

While the finished version hangs in the National Gallery in London, this rare discovery was hiding right here in Jefferson! The painting is now heading to auction where it could fetch up to $500,000, with the proceeds helping our local museum reinvent its exhibits.
