Road closures and power outages are possible across North Carolina this weekend, January 24, due to a significant winter storm. Much of the state is bracing for snow - ice, with the mountains expecting over 1 foot of snow, while areas near Charlotte are more concerned about ice. The storm brings cold temperatures and a wintry mix Friday night-Saturday morning. Bitterly cold conditions could linger into early next week.
