When a senior dog named Link was surrendered to a shelter at the age of 16, he did not understand what was happening. He cried for hours, overwhelmed and confused after losing the only family he had ever known. His age and health issues made his situation even more uncertain.
A woman named Carly came across his photo online and felt an instant connection. Despite knowing the challenges that might come with adopting such an elderly dog, she felt certain he deserved comfort and love. When she met him, Link calmed as soon as he heard her voice and felt her gentle touch, confirming her decision.
Once home, Link found more than just safety. Carly’s dog, Toad, immediately took on the role of protector and companion, staying close as Link healed. Over time, Link’s health improved, his fur grew back, and his spirit returned.
