We’ve spent some time this June building up our rock wall that was holding back the lake last summer after a few years of lots of rain. We’ve decided to let the kids that stay here at our cabin paint a smaller rock and then they can tuck it into our wall to be seen from the lake. I’m looking forward to seeing it grow in the years to come. We are taking bookings for this fall now. Click on the link in our bio to find your perfect get away time.

I’m headed up to the cabin in about a week. We just put in new floors and we’ve already had a few guests up enjoying May in northern Michigan. I love being able to share our family cabin with others. We have a journal where guests write about their adventures. My favorite is the one where the ladies were boating and did a titanic drawing imitation of them falling into the lake. Too funny. My other favorites are the dads that share taking their kids fishing for the first time and the gratitude of being able to do that. As if, at night, your grandma held her shiny metal flour sifter high above our charming hamlet, and cranked with love until the world was dusted and every branch was covered with white magic. And fireplace hearths created warming magnets for the family, while others bundled up and headed toward the cold.
