🌊🚤🏎️Today marks a MAJOR milestone for Hidden Harbor.

We are proud to officially announce that Hidden Harbor has received approval from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Office of Water Resources.

This permit has been nearly THREE YEARS in the making and represents one of the largest and most difficult hurdles for the project. The amount of coordination, persistence, redesign, and teamwork it took to get here cannot be overstated.

To our entire team and all of the outside consultants who stood beside us through this process… THANK YOU!!! 👊We truly could not have done it without you.

Looks like the team is celebrating tonight and then tomorrow it's right back to pushing this project forward.

Hidden Harbor is coming. 🌊🚤🏎️

Last night was incredible.

A huge THANK YOU to the Village of Johnsburg community for showing up in a big way and voicing your support for Hidden Harbor at the Board of Trustees meeting. Your support means everything to us.

We’re excited to share that the TIF term sheet PASSED!

It was standing room only, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who took the time to be there.

We’re officially one step closer to bringing Hidden Harbor Motor Caves to Johnsburg. Stay tuned… big things ahead. ⚓️

What is TIF? It is NOT a tax increase on current residents.

The simplest way to think about it is a REBATE.. The project gets paid for and built first, and then a portion of the new property tax value created by that development can be retained in the future to help offset the costly challenges of improving a long-blighted property.

That means Johnsburg can still benefit from new jobs, added sales tax revenue, more tourism, and more business for other local restaurants, shops, and services throughout town, all while helping transform one of the biggest eyesores in the Village for decades.
