Frog Holler Lodge

Frog Holler Lodge A Place Where People and Nature Meet Your journey begins when you arrive leaving the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind.

Frog Holler is surrounded by the Shawnee Hills and at the Gateway to the Cache River Wetlands. Just minutes away from many area attractions, the Lodge also provides many things to do on the property. One hundred and forty acres of woodland, wetlands, prairie and forest provide opportunities to immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of nature. Spring and fall migration brings a diversity of bird

s through the area. Deer, turkey, beaver are found throughout the property as well as eagles, osprey and an occasional otter often are seen from the back deck. You can explore the property on 3 miles of trail or throw a line into a 5 acre wetland that has great bass fishing.

Black-capped chickadees don’t migrate, but that doesn’t mean they don’t move sometimes! In years of high reproduction, young birds may fly long distances in search of food and shelter.

AM 10/13/11 A Bald Eagle is roosting on an old stump out in the middle of the wetland behind the Lodge. The white on the head is a little dark from being wet. They like to get down on the log underneath the old stump and dip into the water. They will do this several times and when done will stretch out and shake off.
