I keep getting asked: “What exactly is The Valley?”
The honest answer is this:
The Valley is a place we’re building so people can come back to what matters.
It’s kind of like a country club, but with a creek instead of a golf course.
No polished fairways.
No status games.
No pretending.
Creek water.
River rock.
Smoke from the grill.
Families relaxing.
Friends gathering.
Cats being loved.
Food being shared.
People slowing down long enough to remember what community feels like.
At first, we’re opening the beaches.
That means people will be able to come out, put their feet in Five Mile Creek, grab a plate from the grill, meet the people helping build this place, and see the beginning of something that will keep growing over time.
But The Valley is not meant to be only a creek spot.
The long-term goal is to build a self-sustaining ecosystem.
A place that can help feed people, employ people, reward people, rescue animals, support local growers, create local products, and give families somewhere peaceful to belong.
The Valley will grow into:
A peaceful creekside retreat.
A place for Day Passes and memberships.
A place to stay overnight in RVs, primitive campsites, bell tents, and eventually cabins.
A barbecue that never really ends.
A General Store that supports local makers, growers, farmers, and small businesses.
A co-op style farmers market where local food and local people come first.
A boutique bottled water facility connected to The Valley brand.
The Valley Cat Sanctuary, where rescue cats can be cared for, loved, fostered, adopted, and supported.
A place where The MOVE. Community can prove that local dollars can be reinvested into local people.
That is the bigger picture.
The Valley is not being built to be the biggest place around.
It is being built to be meaningful.
It is being built to become sustainable enough to take care of itself, support the people who help build it, and keep giving back to the community around it.
That is why we will limit access.
That is why we care about parking, trash, bathrooms, rules, safety, and capacity.
That is why we are not trying to turn this into a crowded public swimming hole.
We are protecting the feeling.
Because the value of The Valley is not only the creek.
It is what the creek makes possible.
A place to gather.
A place to rest.
A place to eat.
A place to build.
A place to belong.
A place where people can see what community could look like if we built it ourselves.
This first opening is only the beginning.
We’re starting with the beaches, the grill, the creek, and the people.
The rest will grow from there.
