Opening Day 2026
Everything is lining up to be a great opening day. All lakes in the loop are ice free. Rises all over each of them, especially when I've been by in the morning and evening. The resorts are able to do their spring activities early this year. Best to make your plans early while choice accommodations are still available. See you soon!!

Tuesday 12/30 Final Update (for this emergency anyway):
Power is restored to all lines, although there are a few isolated customers still experiencing outages. June Lake Community Center will transition to a Warming Center, and Bridgeport Memorial Hall remains open as a Warming Center. We know there's more weather coming our way, and we are preparing as best we can!

Sunday 12/28 Evening Update
We hear that all of June Lake and Bridgeport now have power. Let's hope it sticks! The Shelter in June Lake and the Warming Center in Bridgeport will remain open overnight.

Sunday 12/28 Morning Update:
Power was restored to some of June Lake, but the majority of the Village remains without power. No change for Bridgeport. We are keeping June Lake Community Center as a Shelter and Bridgeport Memorial Hall as a Warming Center.

Saturday 12/27 Evening Update:
Most of June Lake and a little of Bridgeport are still without power. Bridgeport Memorial Hall will remain open as a Warming Center. But we know that many residents in June are cold and hungry, so we're turning the Warming Center at the June Lake Community Center into a full overnight Shelter. June Lake residents who have sheltering needs can go to the Community Center for meals and a warm place to spend the night.

Saturday 12/27 Morning Update:
Power came back to most, but not all, communities last night. Parts of June Lake and Bridgeport still have no power. Warming Centers will remain open at the June Lake Community Center and Bridgeport Memorial Hall. Call our Dispatch at 760-932-7549, option 7, for sheltering needs.

Boxing Day (12/26) Evening Update:
No news does not equal good news, but that's what we've got. Power remains out from June Lake north through Bridgeport. All three Warming Centers (Bridgeport Memorial Hall, Lee Vining Community Center, and June Lake Community Center) will stay open. Call our Dispatch at 760-932-7549, option 7, for sheltering needs. Also, we've noticed the comments getting a smidge spicy. Please be kind to one another!

Boxing Day (12/26) Morning Update:
Despite brief flickers of energy, power troubles persist from June Lake up to Bridgeport, with no estimated restoration. Warming Centers remain open at June Lake Community Center, Lee Vining Community Center, and Bridgeport Memorial Hall. If you have sheltering needs, please call our Dispatch at 760-932-7549, option 7, for assistance.

Christmas Night Update:
Rumor is that power has been restored to Lee Vining, so the Warming Center has been moved to the Lee Vining Community Center. Everything else remains the same. No power from June Lake through Bridgeport, with the exception of the island of Lee Vining. Bridgeport Memorial Hall and June Lake Community Center are Warming Centers. Please call our Dispatch at 760-932-7549, option 7, if you have sheltering needs.

Not the Christmas present we were hoping for, but the power has been out from June Lake north up to Bridgeport since yesterday afternoon. SCE is working to restore power, but there is no estimate when that will happen. Mono County has opened Warming Centers at the June Lake Community Center, Lee Vining Fire Hall, and the Bridgeport Memorial Hall. Those buildings are open with power and heat. If you have sheltering needs, please call our Dispatch at 760-932-7549, option 7, and we will connect you with County folks who will provide assistance. We will provide updates every morning and evening until power is restored.
