Parasailors are on the boat for approximately one hour with a maximum of 6-10 passengers per boat (flying and non-flying.) Participants are winched on and off the boats hydraulically for safe and dry landings. Participants must be at least 5 years or older in order to parasail or be on the boat as a paying observer. Tandem and triple flight are available with a maximum weight limit of 450 pounds. The captain can increase or decrease these restrictions at their sole discretion based on safety, wind and sea conditions.

Fun fact : Kāʻanapali once had its own beachside airport! ✈️
From 1962 to 1987, small aircraft flew in and out of the Kāʻanapali Airstrip near the beach. The area is still known today as Airport Beach (Kahekili Beach) 🏝️

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: CAPTAIN JOEL 🌟🤩🌟

Some people don’t just work here, they become part of the history of UFO. 👽

Captain Joel has been part of the UFO family since 2016. He has worked full time at our Maui location as well as our Kailua-Kona location. Prior to that he was hired as a boat crew in 1993 for West Maui Parasail. In 1996, he began working full-time, building years of experience on the water and becoming the kind of captain you can count on.

Over the years, Joel has even had the opportunity to fill in with a parasail company in New Zealand, along with stepping in to help UFO on several occasions throughout the years.

With years of ocean experience, countless flights, and plenty of stories along the way, Joel brings knowledge, personality, and a whole lot of aloha to every day on the water. 🤙🌴

We’re stoked to have you as part of the Ohana Joel! Thanks for all the years, hard work, and good times. 💙 Cheers Joel!
