Area update:
First, our hearts go out to the folks and businesses impacted by the fires in the Crane Lake and Boundary Waters area and the first responders dealing with those fires.
So far we have not been impacted by Any of the fires they are to the south and east of us. The smoke has travelled on the same direction and our area (even though we are in closer proximity) are virtually smoke free. The Minneapolis area,Duluth and even Wisconsin are dealing with a lot of the smoke issues. Many weather services put us in the same forecast as Duluth because we are in the same county despite being 170miles away. We also have some rain in the forecast the next few days. We are monitoring the situation for our guests that are planning on traveling up. They should expect smoke in the Duluth through Orr stretch of rte 53. Campfires and charcoal grills are banned in our resort, and within the parks boundary. We will update our page if conditions change.
