McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge

McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge Kalama Harbor Lodge, situated between Kalama’s landmark totem poles and the marina at the Port of Kalama, opened in 2018.

Inspired by the Hawaiian heritage of John Kalama, the property is reminiscent of the Pioneer Inn in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. McMenamins and the Port of Kalama, Washington, have agreed on a lease to build a new property on the Columbia River, 30 minutes north of Portland off Interstate 5. The new destination will include 40 hotel rooms, a restaurant, a rooftop pub and a brewery. Architecture will be

modeled after the Pioneer Inn in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. Similar architecture can also be found today in Kalama in an 1870s structure that was the Northern Pacific Railway's hospital. John Kalama, originally of Kula, Maui, lived in the area as an employee of the Hudson's Bay Company. The Kalama River and the city both bear his name. Descendants of John Kalama are members of the Nisqually and Warm Springs Tribes. There is a second 500-square-foot pub to be constructed nearby. The McMenamins Kalama facility will honor the town's roots with unique architecture, art and visual touches.

Monday night, June 8th, we show up for something bigger than dinner ❤️

Join us at McMenamins Pub at Kalama Harbor Lodge for a Friends & Family Night benefiting the victims of the Nippon Dynawave tragedy and holding space for the families and lives forever changed.

This is what community really looks like. Not just showing up when it’s easy, but showing up when it matters most. Sitting side by side, sharing a meal, and understanding that every table in the room is part of something bigger.

From 5–10pm, 50% of all dine-in sales will be donated directly to the beneficiary fund supporting families impacted by the tragedy. Every order placed becomes support. Every visit becomes a gesture of care. Every seat filled becomes a reminder that no one goes through this alone.

Some nights are just dinner. This one is about standing together. ❤️

There’s nothing quite like a Northwest summer night on the banks of the Columbia River. Music under the stars, river breeze, and a lawn full of good energy.

Join us at the for free shows every Wednesday & Thursday at 6pm as Kalama Summer Music gets underway.

Bring your chairs, blankets, and your favorite people. Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome too 🐾

There’s a painting you might notice… and if you look a little closer, you’ll spot a familiar face: Theodore Roosevelt. Yep. That president.

So what’s he doing here?

Back in 1903, President Roosevelt stopped in Kalama during his Western tour. He stopped briefly, but long enough to deliver a speech about the Pacific Northwest’s future. He spoke about its potential, its natural resources, and its place in the country’s growth, comparing its promise to major industrial hubs of the time.

It was a quick stop… but a lasting impression.

Today, that moment lives on in the lodge, a little reminder that even short visits can leave behind big stories.
