🚗 Going to the Sun Road is open! 🚗

Every spring, we ride the iconic road on bikes and it's absolutely our favorite thing to do in Montana. The waterfalls are at max flow, the wildlife is abundant, and the wildflowers are popping.

It's an experience that we recommend to EVERYONE if they can make it happen. It'll be an experience you'll remember forever.

And if you can't make it on two wheels, that's ok! The drive through the park is still worth it. There are plenty of overlooks, places to stop, and adventures to be had right out of the car.

And now's the time! GTTSR typically stays open to cars at least through September. So pack a lunch, fill up the gas tank, and take your time. The best days on Going to the Sun Road are the slow ones.

Traveling as a family??

Our sleeper sofas from are modern, comfortable, and convert into full queen-sized beds that sleep up to two additional people. And they don't have the awkward bars-in-your-back, springs, and regrets that typically come with the pull-out couch experience.

They're thoughtfully designed so everyone can have a good night's sleep. Five of our eight suites have them and it's one more reason guests love staying with us.

Transformation alert 👉🏽!!

We recently celebrated (survived, lol) three years in business. When and toured the property for the first time they envisioned a bright but warm, welcoming, modern aesthetic where guests would feel comfortable and safe in downtown Kalispell.

They were confident they could pull it off but it was way more of an undertaking than they anticipated. The project stretched them to their limits and they experienced so much professional and personal growth in the first year of business.

Fast forward to 2026 and we've had more successful bookings than we can count (seriously, our financial report starting from March 2023 is still processing 😅).

From a recent guest - "This place is wonderful! Spacious and with everything you need. The hosts are lovely and easy to communicate with! One of my favorite short term rentals I’ve stayed in!"

BIG smiles when we receive such positive comments like these. Hospitality is our calling and you'll get the best of it at Switchback Suites. This isn't just another accommodation, it's a curated home away from home and we're honored and humbled every time our guests choose us over the many other short term rentals in the area. And we CARE.

Eating out every day is expensive/exhausting.

That's why we designed all of our suites with full kitchens. They're equipped with fridges, range/ovens, cute dishwasher drawers, and all of the necessary cookware and utensils that you need to cook delicious homemade meals. We even include flatware and high chairs for the little ones 👶🏼.

So if you're looking for the convenience of a centrally located hotel but want the luxury to cook your own meals in your own private space, we got you.

Book the suite and stock the fridge.
.. Oh, and we're within walking distance of multiple grocery stores! 😉
