Late May, and the whole valley has greened up at once.

The lawn runs in clean stripes out to the white fence line, and past it the fields open up toward the mountains under a sky full of slow-moving cloud. A timber arbor stands at the edge of the grass, waiting on whatever you've got planned. Mid-morning out here is quiet in the best way — room to breathe, a long view in every direction, and the kind of light that doesn't need any help. This is what your guests see when they turn around.

This is where it starts.

The wooden arch at the edge of our orchard marks the entrance to our outdoor tenting lawn — and every couple who walks through it gets a little quiet for a moment. We've noticed. We think that's a good sign.

Beyond the arch: a freshly cut lawn, rows of young orchard trees, and the Flathead Valley opening wide with the mountains holding the whole thing together in the background. Montana doesn't do backdrops halfway.

The tenting space is available for private weddings and events through late fall. Blank canvas, your vision.

The orchard, up close.

White petals, dark anthers, a pink blush on the buds that haven't opened yet. There's a pollinator working the lower branch — caught it in the corner of the frame. The whole bloom window is maybe a week, then it's done for the year. May evening light at 7:53 has a way of making you stop on the walk back from the truck and just look at the tree for a minute.

Walked the orchard row at lunchtime and stopped. The whole line is up at once — every tree in white, all the way down to the mountains.

Took a few seasons for these to settle in. Watching them bloom together feels like the place finally said yes. The support stakes will come out one of these years. The mountains stay where they are.
