Otter Inn An inviting guesthouse in the woods on the Boardman River. Hikers and bicyclists will enjoy the North Country Trail. Lakes and rivers abound!

A beautiful location to simply rest and relax, or to serve as your base to explore all that "Up North" Michigan has to offer. Otter Lodge Inn, known simply as Otter Inn, is our converted barn, now serving as a 2 bedroom, 2 bath guesthouse that sleeps 6. Situated on 3 wooded acres on the north branch of the Boardman River in Kalkaska, Michigan, the location is ideal for anyone looking to enjoy the great outdoors and/or take in the many amenities of this vacation destination. It can be accessed right off the back of our property. Iceman Challenge participants will find Otter Inn to be a perfect base for training. Choose any direction and take a short drive to find one of the many tourist destinations that Up North Michigan has to offer. Traverse City is only 30 minutes away where the shops, wineries, beaches and restaurants are abundant. Elk Rapids is charming and also only a half hour drive. Beautiful Petoskey is an hour away and 15 minutes more will land you in Charlevoix or Harbor Springs. Fish in Otter Inn's own 1/4 mile of meandering blue ribbon trout stream. Marvel at the beauty of Torch Lake and the connecting chain of lakes that you can cruise for days, also only a 30 minute drive. Canoe and kayak enthusiasts will enjoy Lake Guernsey, just up the road from Otter Inn, or drop your vessels in at The Forks Campground. And remember, the month of October is gorgeous with many routes leading to a color tour that you won't soon forget and the traffic to the northern hot spots are much less congested. There's so much to do, you will feel you have little time to get it all in! You will be comfortable at Otter Inn and find that you have all you need to enjoy your stay. And we hope you will return to enjoy all that time didn't allow you to explore the first time. We hope you will consider Otter Inn the next time you need a northern vacation or if your business brings you to our area.
