Napua Restaurant is located at the Beach Club, and guests who stay with us have key card access during the day to enjoy this spectacular beach and Napua for lunch. Napua is also open for dinner. Reservations highly recommended.

WHALES!!! Just one of the best sights ever. This was from shore, but there’s lots of great boat tours if you want to try to get closer.

We are all booked for 2026 whale season but 2027 will open soon.

Most of the prime whale season has been booked for months (Which the family is grateful for!). However, we still have a nice block of days available in January of 2026. Check our link in the "about" section to book direct. While you are on island, maybe you can hit the trifecta, whales, manta rays and an eruption?! The eruption in this photo was from Episode 14 in March 2025. This series of eruptions started in December of 2024 and has continued every 2-4 weeks since then. The manta shown was just one of many family members saw on a tour by Manta Ray Advocates Hawaii.

What's your vacation style? Golfing, disc golf, maybe an eruption, snorkeling, SCUBA, glass blowing, farmers markets or relaxing sunsets? Kulalani 704 is an awesome base camp for all these activities on the Big Island. Take a look at our calendar, still a few limited openings in 2025, and 2026 is already filling up, so don't wait!

Some of our ocean friends you might see while snorkeling or diving! Of course, the wonderful yellow tangs. They frequent shallow and deeper areas and often have many other interesting fish swimming with them. Sometimes you will get to see the often curious and cute Nenue, if you stay calm and move slowly, they often come right up near you! Always respect the water, if in doubt, just stay out. Book soon, dates are already filing up for 2026. Not much remaining open for 2025. April 2026 just opened up, so don't wait!

Sometimes you just have to take a break. What a perfect spot to do so on the second-floor lanai off the primary bedroom. Grab a cold beverage, listen to the birds and maybe nod off for an hour? Note that both lanais are in the shade going into the afternoons too.

Traditional golf AKA ball golf is famously good on the Big Island, including the courses right here in the Mauna Lani resort. Matter of fact, 704 backs to the 6th tee on the fabulous Mauna Lani North Course. But what many people don't know, including enthusiasts is how good the DISC GOLFING is on the Big Island! There are multiple courses, ranging from courses shared with ball golfers to courses that are far more adventurous. The DG community here has some of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet too. The closest course to 704 is about 45 minutes north, a couple are on the other side of the island, and another is about an hour or so south. Your DG rounds can frequently include other stops before or after your play making for a great day of activities for everyone. Bring your discs and get off the beaten path! Can you clear the cove? What are you hitting? It's "only" around 200 yards but watch out for that left to right ocean breeze, and don't let that carry get into your head! The Mauna Lani resort has two fantastic 18 hole courses, and a family friendly Wiki Wiki course too. The clubhouse is a very short drive from 704, the unit actually backs up to the tee on hole 6 of the North course. Time to hit, and time to book your next trip to the Big Island and stay at Kulalani 704!
