From recent guests:
Love Kokopelli Kottage!
A friend and I recently spent five nights at Kokopelli Kottage. It was super convenient to many amazing sites in the area. The owners provided a lot of information on the activities and attractions nearby. The home had everything we could need from extra towels to day packs and coolers we could use for the day. It was clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed seeing the stars from the backyard. We even got to see a small herd of deer pass through the back yard to the open area next door! Even though we could not bring our dogs this time, the house was all set up to comfortably care for dogs. I would highly recommend a stay at Kokopelli Kottage! Kokopelli is a Hopi word for a Native American figure that was considered to be a healer, prankster, storyteller and flute player, among other things. Carvings of Kokopelli have been found in many areas throughout the Southwest. We have our very own Kokopelli outside our Kokopelli Kottage and according to a few guests, about 84 of his depictions throughout the Kottage! We were thinking that this guy needs a name as we always call him Mr Kokopelli, but would like to give him his own name. So, for fun, we would love to hear your suggestions so please comment below! 🙂

News Release — Grand Canyon National Park plans adaptive reopening of North Rim in summer 2026

Grand Canyon National Park is preparing an adaptive approach for the seasonal reopening of the North Rim, evaluating potential impacts from winter weather to park infrastructure after the Dragon Bravo Fire. The park aims to open popular points of interest, including the North Kaibab Trail, on May 15, weather and conditions permitting.

Park officials emphasize that the guiding principle for the upcoming season is: “We will open what we can, where we can, when we can.” This approach prioritizes visitor safety, resource protection, and operational readiness. Park officials are aware of the challenges of local communities, businesses and our visitors in planning for the 2026 season and are committed to providing specific details about the 2026 North Rim season no later than April 1, 2026.

While the North Kaibab Trail and Arizona Trail typically remain open to visitors year-round, they are subject to closures due to snow, ice, fire-related damage, or necessary infrastructure repairs. Currently, the North Kaibab Trail and portions of the Arizona Trail within the park are closed due to public safety concerns following the Dragon Bravo fire. The park is actively evaluating trail conditions and infrastructure throughout the winter to determine the feasibility of reopening these routes by May 15, 2026.

Guests who stayed at kokopellikottage.com back in May wrote these very kind words about our place "Absolutely perfect. The best accommodation on our trip to the USA. We felt at home here.
+ Absolutely perfect accommodation in a beautiful, quiet location. Lots of space, a perfectly equipped kitchen, a beautiful and spacious dining room, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a washer, dryer and a beautiful terrace outside for dinner. Everything clean and wonderful. Prepared description of trips to the surrounding area.
It's in a great location on the edge of Kanab, where it's quiet. Five minutes by car to the store. It's an hour to Zion and 1:45 to Bryce. Just a perfect place.
We were here for 5 wonderful days and we didn't want to leave at all." 💖 We are so very appreciative of these kind words and thankful they chose to stay at our place. 🥰
