A little update from Zion National Park:

✔️ Yes, Zion is open

✔️ Yes, Zion had a flash flood this week

✔️ Yes, flash floods happen every monsoon season

✔️ Yes, park rangers and search & rescue are trained specifically for these events

✔️ Yes, trails and roads reopen quickly once water levels drop

✔️ Yes, monsoons are incredibly localized, which usually only impacts one section of an otherwise massive park

✔️ Yes, the desert is stunning precisely because of moments like this

✔️ And yes, the media really loves to talk about these parks and “disastrous” type events 😅

Zion isn’t going anywhere, and neither are we. Come stay a while this fall and explore our favorite park during our favorite season. 🤠⛺️🧡

We’re not quite ready for pumpkin spice yet. So we’re squeezing another week (or so) out of our cowboy pool season as we welcome the end of summer and beginning of fall.

When the pumpkin spice does hit, we’ll be ready. The beginning of October still has some great availability and it’s quite literally our favorite season. ❤️🧡💛

Who’s ready for a full moon eclipse tonight? 👀🌕❤️

A recent guest left a review about the moon on our booking.com profile, and it’s some of the sagest advice out there. CHECK 👏 THE 👏 MOON 👏 CALENDAR 👏

For real.

Hoping to see the Milky Way in its full glory? Come during the new moon! 🌑

Ready to see the landscape glow under moonlight? Hit the full moon. 🌕

Are you down for whatever? Come when the moon is waxing, waning, or anything in between. 🌖🌗🌘🌒🌓🌔

We can’t control the moon (we’re working on it) but we can share in the joy of some of the most incredible night skies in the country. Whether that be the darkest or most epic out there.

Kinda chic, if we do say so ourselves. 💅

A little sneak peak of what’s to come! 👀💛🤠

August is in full swing and Utah’s heat wave is officially coming to a close. Which means it’s the perfect time to glamp as we prepare for another season of leaf peeping across the region!

Here’s what you need to know from the high country, to the high desert, to the edge of our favorite canyon.

💛 Mid-September: Trees (think aspens) at 8,000 - 10,000 feet in elevation begin to change. Head to Cedar Breaks, Bryce Canyon, and the North Rim Grand Canyon to peep!

🧡 Late September: Peak season for 6,000 - 8,000 foot elevations begins around this time. Head to the East Side of Zion National Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante, and Kodachrome Basin State Park to peep!

❤️ October: Kanab’s fall colors (hello, cottonwoods) come into force with a full display turning on around the 4,000 - 6,000 foot elevation. Head to Zion Canyon, Vermilion Cliffs, and Glen Canyon to peep!

🤎 Early November: If you haven’t filled your fall cup, you have one last chance to catch fall colors below 4,000 feet in elevation. Think Snow Canyon State Park and Red Cliffs National Conservation Area to peep!

It’s officially Perseid Season and we’re proud to have some of the darkest skies in the country! ✨💫🤩

Here’s the latest:

The 2026 Perseid meteor shower peaks during the night of August 12 into the morning of August 13, 2026. Conditions are ideal this year because the peak coincides with a new moon, providing completely dark skies and a rate of 50 to 100 meteors per hour.

New moon + a meteor shower + the most epic Milky Way? Sign us up and yes, you can join in on the fun too. ⬇️

For the weekend of August 12th, our Katie Lee tent is wide open and we have two one night openings in our Josey Wales and Powell tents!

Details to book are on our website. Join us for an incredible evening or two under the starts.

Thank you to guest Luca O. for sharing this shot with us!

Pssst. The high country is perfect right now. 🤠❤️✨

A quick jaunt along Cedar Breaks National Monument’s south rim this past weekend was exactly what we needed to beat the heat and get outside.

Plus, zero crowds, ancient bristle cone pines, friendly deer, and the same pink hoodoos you find in Bryce Canyon. It’s always one of our go-to summer high county spots!

Fresh on the blog from Travels By Ilse | Travel Blogger 🌏 - Sleeping under thousands of stars: glamping near Kanab ✨

“After driving about three kilometres along an unpaved road, where cows are still casually wandering across the path, you arrive at BaseCamp37. The property has only five tents, each with incredible views over Utah’s vast landscape.

The moment you step inside the tent, you are surprised. This is not ordinary camping, but glamping at its best. The tent is stylishly decorated with a comfortable king-size bed, a cosy seating area, a heater for the cooler desert nights and even an electric blanket to keep you warm and comfortable.”
