Big Walk will be at the Lodge grilling in the heat today because apparently he has something to prove. 😂

Come by the Lodge around noon and grab some burgers and dogs while Big Walk sacrifices himself to the grill gods. We’ll be grilling until about 4pm.

We’ll have plenty of ice-cold waters and sodas to keep everyone hydrated and refreshed. 🧊🥤

This hits too close to home…. Corporal Thoman was serving the community he loves, removing another dangerous impaired motorist from our highways, when he was struck by a passing motorist. He is expected to make a recovery but his life and mobility will never be the same. If you feel so inclined to help us support Corporal Thoman and his family, there are links in the original post to donate. Even a simple share does so much! Keep this hero, his family, and his coworkers in your prayers. If nothing else, please, PLEASE move over. It is the law for a reason!

JP is one of the good ones! We are proud everyday of the great work our officers do.

Some promises are worth keeping, no matter how long it takes.

After an e-bike belonging to Olivia, a Stage 4 breast cancer survivor, was stolen, an officer with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department promised he would do everything he could to find it.

More than a month later, Officer JP Young did just that.

While on patrol, Officer Young and his partner spotted a spray-painted e-bike that looked familiar. A glimpse of the original paint led him to contact Olivia, who confirmed it was hers. The officers recovered the bike, arrested the suspect, and reunited Olivia with the bicycle she relied on to attend oncology appointments.

For Olivia, the recovery meant far more than getting back a stolen bike. It restored an important part of her independence during an incredibly difficult chapter of her life.
Stories like this are a reminder that great police work doesn't end when the report is filed. Sometimes, it ends with an officer keeping a promise.

The Fraternal Order of Police and its more than one thousand members extend their sincere congratulations to Chief Stacey Graves on her retirement and thank her for her successful tenure as Chief. Her leadership, professionalism, and commitment to the people of Kansas City have left a meaningful and lasting mark on the Department and the community it serves.

Throughout her tenure, Chief Graves demonstrated a clear commitment to strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the community. Her focus on community outreach helped advance dialogue, trust, and engagement with the residents, neighborhoods, and stakeholders that are essential partners in public safety.

Chief Graves also led the effort to reduce violent crime in Kansas City. Her service reflected an understanding that public safety requires sustained attention, effective leadership, and a Department-wide commitment to protecting the community.

We particularly recognize Chief Graves’ willingness to engage in cooperative efforts with the FOP Lodge #99 and its members to make positive changes within the Department. Constructive collaboration between Department leadership and the officers who serve Kansas City is vital to a strong, effective police force. Chief Graves’ willingness to pursue that cooperation reflects a shared commitment to improving the Department and supporting those who carry out its mission every day.

As Chief Graves begins her retirement, we wish her every success and fulfillment in this next chapter. We are grateful for her years of service, congratulate her on a distinguished career, and recognize the positive contributions she has made to the Department, its members, and the Kansas City community.

The Missouri Fraternal Order of Police has released its official list of endorsed candidates for the 2026 election cycle. These are candidates who have demonstrated their support for law enforcement, public safety, and the men and women who wear the badge.
