The Fraternal Order of Police and its more than one thousand members extend their sincere congratulations to Chief Stacey Graves on her retirement and thank her for her successful tenure as Chief. Her leadership, professionalism, and commitment to the people of Kansas City have left a meaningful and lasting mark on the Department and the community it serves.
Throughout her tenure, Chief Graves demonstrated a clear commitment to strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the community. Her focus on community outreach helped advance dialogue, trust, and engagement with the residents, neighborhoods, and stakeholders that are essential partners in public safety.
Chief Graves also led the effort to reduce violent crime in Kansas City. Her service reflected an understanding that public safety requires sustained attention, effective leadership, and a Department-wide commitment to protecting the community.
We particularly recognize Chief Gravesā willingness to engage in cooperative efforts with the FOP Lodge #99 and its members to make positive changes within the Department. Constructive collaboration between Department leadership and the officers who serve Kansas City is vital to a strong, effective police force. Chief Gravesā willingness to pursue that cooperation reflects a shared commitment to improving the Department and supporting those who carry out its mission every day.
As Chief Graves begins her retirement, we wish her every success and fulfillment in this next chapter. We are grateful for her years of service, congratulate her on a distinguished career, and recognize the positive contributions she has made to the Department, its members, and the Kansas City community.
