From a young age, cattle have always been my passion and I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to grow up on a cattle ranch near Medicine Lodge Kansas. My family's operation consisted of stocker cattle, our cow calf operation and raising crops to feed the cattle. My grand-dad also ran the sale barn in Medicine Lodge where I have fond memories of working in the yards and learning the ins
and outs of the cattle marketing business. I obtained my associates degree from Butler County Community College where I competed on the livestock judging team coached by Chris Mullinix. I then transferred to KSU and graduated with my bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences and Industry where I also competed on the livestock judging team coached by Scott Shaake. From there I went on to the University of Illinois to pursue my Master's degree in Beef Cattle Nutrition. I also had the opportunity to be the assistant livestock judging coach under Dr. Dan Shike, where I was able to coach three livestock judging teams. I was then hired by Colorado State University as an instructor and livestock judging coach. I was there for 8 years and was able to coach many successful teams. During my time in Colorado I was also able to judge many national, regional and state shows across the United States. I also married my lovely wife Lacey in Colorado and we now have 2 children Cealy and Chisum that keep us very busy. We live North of Kansas City where we have met several friends that are also part of the cattle industry. I am very blessed to work for a great organization and interact with the greatest breeders in the country.
