Oh my gosh…Helen is on a roll making improvements at Finch Gardens Guest and Boardinghouse this last week!
Just last Friday she got busy sinking 14 old posted sprinklers into the ground, replacing them with pop up canister sprinklers. Her son, Noah, came and helped on Sat AM getting more sprinklers dug out for her to plumb and then three more on Sunday AM before he headed home to Davis.
Now Finch Gardens really looks and feels like a park! The three days of work puts me in mind of why I didn’t do it sooner 😂
While all that was in the works, Eddie Klein (world’s best neighbor alongside of Jayson Lyon) brought his Bobcat over and dragged and leveled an area alongside of the house where insurance wants to see gravel instead of my sweet kitchen garden and picket fence.
Once that was out of the way I had my usual Wed. helper, Chris, continue around corner of house digging and creating a 5’ wide area for a gravel walk along back of house over to other yard and plenty of concrete patio.
American Plumbing has always been my go to plumbing service but because Brad is such a great friend I try to spare him having to get under my house or deal with my sewer issues. For this I rely on Cobra Sewer and Plumbing Repair and they never let me down. Happened that while I was in that particular corner digging and creating my new gravel walkway I noticed moisture around the bottom of my hot water heater closet. Richard and his boys, Arthur and Chris installed a new propane water heater for me so that this winter when electricity goes out I will have hot water, a stove to cook and wood heat to see me through.
Arthur also got down below and replaced a coupling on ABS and reconnected my washing machine to the septic after having run grey water out into the yard for so many years. Little things sure make a difference!
