For years, Executive Chef Steve Sicinski has been the heartbeat of our kitchen. While he typically guides the team from behind the scenes, seeing his creativity take center stage was truly something special!

From the delicate Wild Mushroom Consommé to the incredible Wagyu Beef Coulotte, every plate was a masterpiece—paired to absolute perfection🍷

Chef is already back at it, translating his notebook sketches into a brand-new menu that captures the very best of the upcoming season. These intimate evenings are quickly becoming some of our absolute favorites, and we would love for you to join us for the next one!

We are so excited to host Maine Commissioner of Corrections Randall Liberty tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2nd, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM for a meaningful conversation surrounding his new memoir, Liberty’s Prison. We would love for our community to be a part of it!

This evening is free, open to the public, and centers on a topic incredibly close to our hearts—the power of rehabilitation, dignity, and real opportunity.

Commissioner Liberty’s lifetime of work in prison reform is an inspiring reminder of what is possible when a community chooses to believe in second chances 🤍

We’ll be gathering at the resort, and complimentary small bites and a cash bar will be available—all are truly welcome!

When asked about navigating the seasonal hiring rush, our Innkeeper, Jean, shared a statistic that speaks to the heart of who we are: year after year, more than 90% of our team members choose to return to the resort. In an industry where retaining even half of a seasonal workforce is a challenge, that number means everything to us. It proves that when you build a culture of genuine appreciation, people want to come back.

But true hospitality excellence isn't just about who returns—it’s about who we welcome in.

We are still celebrating the wonderful news that our Director of People & Operations, Colby Bracy, was recently recognized as one of Elon University’s "Top 10 Under 10" Alumni for 2026! 🏆🎉

While this amazing honor celebrates young alumni making a massive impact in their professions, we wanted to take a moment to shine a spotlight on the heart and dedication Colby brings to the resort every single day.

Colby’s leadership is the driving force behind our inclusive hiring initiatives, most notably through our Raising People Up program. She works tirelessly to ensure that everyone has a place where they truly belong, supporting our team members at every stage of their careers—from our incoming summer interns to the dedicated staff who have been with us for over 40 years! ❤️

On Tuesday, June 2nd, we have the profound privilege of hosting Maine Commissioner of Corrections Randall Liberty for an author talk and signing of his memoir, Liberty’s Prison.

Commissioner Liberty’s journey—from a young boy visiting his father behind bars to the leader who radically reshaped that very same prison—is an extraordinary story of resilience. By replacing retribution with true rehabilitation, education, and job training, his work has driven Maine’s recidivism rate down to 21%.

But real reform requires more than policy; it requires a community and a workforce ready to welcome people back. At the resort, being an inclusive, second-chance employer is a core value. We see firsthand how giving someone a supportive place to land transforms lives, anchors families, and strengthens our entire community.
